The 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be broadcast live on CBS on Sunday, September 14, 2025. Apple TV+ Workplace Sci-Fi series “Severance” led the packaging with 27 nominations, followed by HBO Max’s “The Penguin” with 24 nods and Apple “The Studio” and HBO’s “The White Lotus” which binds for 23 each. The big question: Do people in the real world care outside the entertainment industry about these prices? They do not have the same gravitas as the Academy Awards nominations do, but Marcus made the case on this week’s “screen talk” that TV Academy Kudos is the key to honoring rising talent and ensuring that the under-Radar series is not forgotten.
Marcus, who rightly predicted that Hulus outstanding drama series-nominated “Paradise” Would make a strong show, break down this week’s nominations and offer thoughts on who can win at the September ceremony. If you are not particularly caught with your TV – which Ryan clearly is not, even though he has seen the majority of beloved series from “Severance” to “The White Lotus” and “The Pitt” – The Emmys Offer a guide to what to watch as the season develops.
Outside the TV country, which opens this week, is ARIS’s divided covid-era Western “Eddington” from A24, which Marcus has seen and warns the viewers not to dig too deep into its importance. Ryan repeats His feelings felt on Cannes – In addition to Anne – the Aster here throws 2020 concept in a mixer without much shade or depth. A24 takes the movie Wide and hopes for the best for the most partial offer yet from the director of “Hereddary” film If Father-son Incest is more effective in any way than Aster ambitious latest.
In addition, as Marcus participates in this year’s Venice Film Festival with Ryan, we feed on films that we hope to see there before the lineup is revealed on Tuesday, July 22.
