This is enough to get a smile out of Wednesday Addams? The return of Addams Family Spinoff Series “Wednesday” starring Jenna Ortega is still a hit that notes 50 million views on Netflix During his first week on the service and easily, No. 1 hits the top 10 lists globally.
The show’s 50 million views are right in line with what Season 1 did when it debuted far back in November 2022 with 50.1 million views. But at that time, Netflix tracked hours instead of “views”, so “Wednesday” season 1 topped the list with 341.2 million hours watched, and it was with Netflix that dropped all eight episodes of Season 1 at once. For Season 2, it has been divided into two parts, with part 2 debuted on September 3, so expect another large viewing boost for season 2 a month from now.
So even though it is a few thousand shy from the first season, “Wednesday” season 2 is actually the biggest debut for an English-language Netflix series ever. By comparison, Season 2 debuted by “Squid Game” with one Whopping 68 million views and has the recordBut it even struck season 3 from earlier this summer, which only had 46.3 million views during their first week. The show also set another record and reaches No. 1 in 91 different countries, which is again most for an English -speaking TV series.
The first season of “Wednesday” returned to the Netflix lists this week also and landed on No. 2 for the week with 8.6 million views. It has now been in the top 10 for a huge 22 weeks, and it is Netflix’s most popular English series ever with 252.1 million views during the first 91 days of the release. Sharing season 2 into two parts can be a great way to create a spark of new viewers halfway through their driving, and we would not be surprised if it managed to approach or surpass season 1 as the largest Netflix series ever.
Ortega returned as Wednesday Addams for another murder mystery at her boarding school Nevermore, where she is now investigating a series of murders through a murder of crows, as well as a stalker who also wants Wednesday dead. Tim Burton returned to direct two episodes of the series Created by Miles Millar and Alfred Gough.
Our critics were annoyed not only by the season being divided into two halves after a delay of three years between seasons, but also by what he resembled to one rudimentary and everyday murder mystery.
