Legacy has been top in the mind for A Thurman: That is the main reason why she all except completely avoided the action genre since “Kill wants vol. 2” came out in 2004.

“I didn’t think I would show anyone how it is done after I saw Charlize in ‘Old Guard 1,'” said Thurman. “This one seemed differently (from other action movies she was offered) for in ‘Old Guard 1’, Charlize was just so epic in it. And then I thought, ‘Well, I could do it for her in it. Where she’s kind of taking the genre there. I will support her and fight her and fight against her.”
“Putting her toe” in the action genre again, as she put it, did not come as easily to Thurman as one might think, partly because she came aboard the project late and did not have time to train in advance.
