Tim Allen offers fans a clue about which main character can go into the limelight for “Toy Story 5. “
In a new interview with Wivb In Buffalo to promote his upcoming stand-up comedy tour, Allen revealed that he has spent time in the studio recording dialogue for the upcoming Pixar follower. And while he couldn’t reveal many specific plot articles, he made it clear that Woody and Buzz would cooperate again and that Joan Cusacks Jessie could play a bigger role.
“I can say it’s a lot about Jessie,” Allen said. “Tom (Hanks) and I do it – Woody and I – make adjustment. And there is an incredible opening scene with Buzz Lightyears. I can give you that, but I can’t give you much more.”

“Toy Story 5” was announced at 2024 D23 Expo. Longtime Pixar veteran Andrew Stanton, who contributed to the stories of all four previous “Toy Story” payments but has never directed one, is Finally in the director’s chairman of this. Stanton previously directed Pixar meets “Wall-E” and “Finding Nemo” together with Live-Action “John Carter” and episodes of “Stranger Things” and “Better Call Saul.”
The announcement of “Toy Story 5” on the D23 was accompanied by a stillness by Bonnie hugged over a tablet while eight of her toys – Woody, Buzz, Rex, Slinky Dog, Hamm, Jessie, Bullseye and Forky – look at Dismay. In addition to seemingly confirming the return of these characters, the photo suggested that “Toy Story 5” will focus on what happens when children become dependent on technology.
Allen has previously praised the script for “Toy Story 5”, who first talked about it in an interview in 2024 with Collids. The actor and comedian explained that he felt that the project had enough creative motivation to exist and noted that he did not feel it was a cash grip.
“It’s a very, very, very smart story,” said Allen about the project “I don’t really think it’s about the money. I’m sure they want it to be a success, but that’s not why they did. Had they not come up with a brilliant script, they would not have done it and they would not have called me and empty. It is really smart.”
“Toy Story 5” is scheduled to meet theaters on June 19, 2026.
