With many of the biggest premieres for Fallival officially on the calendar, each subsequent set -up message is leaning more and more against Sicko Cinephiles among us. You probably already knew that that 2025 Toronto International Film Festival would include “The Sound of Falling”, “The Smashing Machine” and “Frankenstein”, but they recently announced Wavelengths Lineup promises to offer many hidden gemstones you’ve never heard of. And of course there are some favorites from second 2025 Festivals That the Toronto audience has not had a chance to see.
The famous avant-garde part of the festival has nine features and 14 shorts from all over the world, each of which presses the boundaries of cinematic story in some way. Highlights include Kahlil Joseph’s genre -bending artwork “BLKNWS: Terms & Conditions” (which premiered to rave reviews on Sundance), Ben Rivers “Mare’s Nest” (which will Also play NYFF) and Gael García Bernal-led historical epic “Magellan.”
