“Prick” is the big winner of 2025 Television Critics Awards. Of the organization’s 14 awards, HBO Max Medical Drama won four of them, including this year’s program, outstanding drama performance, outstanding new program and an individual performance in Drama win for the Star Noah Wyle series.
Although “Severance” was the most nominated program of the year, Apple TV+ original won nothing.
The only other series that won more than one prize was “Sesame Street.” PBS Staple took home outstanding performance in children’s programming and this year’s Heritage Award, an honor that was assigned iconic series through TV’s history. Of course a tuxedo -clad elmo accepted both of these prices.
Apple TV +’s “The Studio” and Netflix’s “Adolescence” also took home top awards, a feature that was not surprising given that both series have dominated prices this year. “Studio” won for outstanding performance in comedy, while the “teens” won for outstanding performance in films, miniseries or special offers.
When it comes to the Career Achievement Award, who is assigned a person who has changed the TV landscape for the better, it was given the honor to “Matlock” and “American Horror Story” star Kathy Bates. “Your recognition means the world to me, and I am grateful for all TCA members for this incredible honor,” Said Bates while accepting the award. “Your support and commitment to the television industry is invaluable, and I’m really humbled by your recognition.”
“Each of these TCA award winners not only entertained us, but also immersed us in the characters’ lives, both fictional and real. We are happy to honor them,” said TCA President Andy Dehnart, the founder and the editor of reality. “TCA exists to support our members’ work and celebrate TV’s role in our culture, and with these awards and accompanying videos we both do.”
Usually, TCA owns the summer at the end of the organization’s press tour. But because Summer Press Tour was canceled Due to ongoing contraction in Hollywood, the organization instead announced the winners through a series of Youtube short videos published on its official channel.
