After performing professionally now Because they were 13 years oldact has become second nature for the still relatively young talent, Bella Ramsey. Now the Hit HBO series ”now co-management”The last of us“Ramsey has been given more opportunities to hone his craft and in this way it has only learned more about themselves. In the wake of the show’s success and their own rise to the star they could come out as Non-binary. And now, before the show season 2, which premieres next month, they have discussed the effects of being “diagnosed with autism” during the photography of season 1.
Speaking in An interview at British VogueRamsey shared that a crew member with an autistic daughter noticed some habits that they exhibited as related to sensory issues and hyperaworeness that are common with the diagnosis. Now that Ramsey has had formal judgments and knows more about their own neurodergens, they have been able to embrace it wholeheartedly, especially when it comes to acting.
“I’ve always seen and learned from people. Having to learn more manually how to socialize and interact with the people around me has helped me act,” they said. From the routine that their career gives their lives and how it fits how their mind works, they added: “I have a conversation time and I get to hear what to wear, how to stand, where to stand and what to eat.”
As Ramsey puts it, this can be extremely “liberating” when you are neurodian and offer them a lot of “grace” to themselves. This diagnosis has also enabled them to further understand parts of their identity, but at the same time they are not interested in being intended as just one thing.
“The label to be autistic has been so helpful to me because it has helped me to understand myself,” said Ramsey, “but sex and sexuality, labels do not feel comfortable for me in any capacity, because I feel I put myself in a box. I feel caught.”
Being one of the most famous talents in their age range has made it so that they Cannot accurately avoid being in the “public eye” And while they feel more comfortable when people are aware of their autism, they wonder how it must feel not having to put themselves out there, especially when it comes to exploring the more sensitive elements of their lives.
“It makes me a little sad that people who are not in the public eye can explore their gender identity or sexuality privately,” Ramsey told British Vogue. It is a privilege that I do not really get more. If I wanted to explore other things, such as aspects of my gender identity, it would be made public. As much as I would try to keep it private, if someone recognizes me on the street, say if I present differently, (and) take a photo, then it is just talked about. “
“The Last of Us” season 2 premiere at HBO Sunday 13 April.
