It’s time to put on our best heels and step back on the track, because we have our first film from The Devil Wears Prada 2. While we’ve seen some outfit spoilers for the highly anticipated sequel, we haven’t Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway in action until now. And let me tell you, the teaser trailer that gave us our first look is very exciting, as it left me with a big question about Miranda and Andy’s relationship.
In the first teaser trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2as you can see above, we spend a lot of time looking at a pair of red heels walking through the offices of what I would guess is Runway Magazine. Then, when the woman in the heels enters the elevator, she is revealed to be Meryl Streep’s Miranda Priestly.
Looking iconic in her black outfit and matching sunglasses, she turns to Anne Hathaway’s Andy, who barely made it into the elevator, and says:
Took you long enough.
Then Hathaway’s character puts on her sunglasses and smiles, which brings me to my question: Where does Miranda and Andy’s relationship stand?
In the first one The Devil Wears PradaAndy was Miranda’s assistant, and for most of the movie she was looked down upon. In this teaser trailer, Andy’s smile and the fact that she also donned sunglasses makes me wonder if she’s more of Miranda’s equal now.
Thank goodness we get answers soon, like The Devil Wears Prada 2 will premiere as per the 2026 film schedule on May 1.
