What is seasonal color analysis?
You have probably seen this lively term all over the Internet. Chances are that you are not the only one with questions.
Sarah Shim, founder of the personal color analysis and styling studio Yoni Color Studio, explains it as “find the color palette that flatter you best by looking at the contrast in your features and how they work together.”
There are four color seasons: winter, spring, autumn and summer.
“Keep in mind that it’s a weapon for the days where you really show up,” says Shim. “When you know which colors work best for you, you feel very safe.”
Shim emphasizes that there are no hard and quick rules when it comes to fashion, but knowing your color season can act as a useful guideline when shopping for clothes and makeup.
How to find your color palette
According to our expert, Color analysis is mainly based on the undertone with your skin.
“You can find out by trying a light white t-shirt versus a beige or cream t-shirt,” she says. “If you feel that your features look softer in cream or beige, you are closer to hot undertones. If you feel you look more sharp and sharp in light white, you are closer to cool tones, she explains.
Hair color can also play a role in determining your color palette. Those with ash tones and dark, charcoal hair are more likely, while those with golden, honey or dark brown shades are more likely to have warm undertones.
Finally, if you feel that your features look more defined in dark colors, you are probably an autumn or winter. Alternatively, if you look fresher in softer pastel, you are probably a spring or summer.
