I am a Los Angeleno, born and raised, and I admired the entertainment industry even before I was part of it. I have been lucky enough to build a successful career in Los Angeles As a lighting designer contributes to some of the most exciting and high -profile projects over the past 35 years. From scripted series to Live Telecast to reality competition programs, I have worked with incredibly talented people and made magical moments. I love what I do, the people I do it with and the city we call home.
Over the past five seasons I have served as lighting designer at Technicolor Explosion of Artistry and self-expression which is “Rupaul’s Drag Race”, which has been proudly done in Los Angeles since 2009. At a time when productions are To a higher degree Los Los Angeles“Rupaul’s Drag Race“Has remained firmly planted and held on to their LA roots and much of the dedicated crew that helped build the iconic show.
Many of us have worked in production for decades. We have come up through the rankings, mentored by veterans who shaped this industry and lit steps with coal arches and tungsten sources. Our crew includes forks and key grips whose parents and even grandparents were in the industry. We have camera operators who started as a pas in the early days of reality TVAnd passionate, young talent – many who move to Los Angeles to break into the business – who hope this will be the first of many projects in a lifelong career. We are the type of workers who have long formed the backbone of this industry city: generation, skilled and deeply invested in their future.

The work is hard, the pace is fast and expectations are high. Each week “Rupaul’s Drag Race” Delivers something spectacular, whether it is a Broadway-style musical, a scripted actor, a high-fashion photography or a lip synchronization smackdown for the ages, we are constantly raising the bar. We are artists who want to create something timeless – a moment that people will remember, and who can even change their lives.
The level of creative ambition is made possible due to LA’s unmatched production ecosystem: the best herds in the industry, groundbreaking apartment buildings, experienced collaborators, versatile sound stages and reliable industrial partners. These world -class resources allow us to be bold, flexible and effective.
Much of the success of “Rupaul’s Drag Race” Can be credited to the World of Wonder’s commitment to produce the long -term series in Los Angeles. They have proven that there is no better place to make award -winning, culturally resonant TV than here at home. Their continued investment in LA’s production society not only helps to maintain jobs and companies, it preserves the legacy of crafts, collaboration and creative excellence that defines this city.
The production is located in LA’s DNA. Let’s keep it that way.
