‘Predator: Killer of Killers’: Animation of a time -jumping anthology

“It was really a pleasure to experiment and find crazy perceptions and ideas, and then literally let them just be so,” Trachtenberg told IndieWire. “It was pure abandonment. And of course, marry it with stories that are really emotional and intense and characters that face conflicts before the predator even pops up.”

In “The Shield” Viking Warrior Ursa (Lindsay Lavanchy) leads her clan on an expedition to avenge her father’s death and meets with Predator Brute, equipped with a sonic charge from a wrist comb. In “The Shield”, two warring brothers, Samurai Kenji and banished Ninja Kiyoshi (Louis Ozawa), Predator Assassin, which among other things exerts a spear that is transformed. Trachtenberg, who made “murderer” at the same time as the upcoming live-action “Predator: Badlands” (November 7), was anxious to explore all three underdog stories in a painting-style CG style similar to Netflix Emmy winning “Arcane.” Josh Wassung, co -founder of the acclaimed visualization studio on the third floor, which has a long association with Marvel, who has a long association with Marvel, which has a long association with Marvel. “The test results were very cool and they all had something to prove, which ignited things, and I’m glad people respond to the animation because many people worked really hard,” Trachtenberg said. “What is rewarding is that the animation media enables a lot of experiment because it is so art ahead that something can be both beautiful and brutal, which is an aesthetic that I am always fascinated by and prefer to get involved in.”

“We have to find out how to get a guy in his suit and it changes a little, and then we can only film it to keep it up in live -action,” Trachtenberg added. “So the design gets really stylized and moves in ways we always hoped they could move. And all this was something we could only do in this kind of movie.”

Of all the creatures, Predator Brute showed the most challenging. “Where do they go? How do they fit? How can we best use them? And when that leap to the forefront of, ‘oh, my gosh, that defitely the viking era predator,’ we realized it was now going earlier even than than ‘prey’ was. Trachtenberg was also proud of the creature “Back bites” which was presented on the Predator Planet. “I think it was Josh’s idea to put his mouth on the back of the head,” he said. “It became my favorite idea with the whole thing. What a cool design. I would love to make more films with that particular creature.”

But linking the three stories to generational conflicts in different periods is the most animated Trachtenberg. “There is a line in ‘Magnolia’ that says, ‘You may be done with the past, but the past is not clear with you.’ And it is a theme that I think is the most important thing for us to investigate, period, ”he said.

“And so when there is a chance to tell a story about generations about things, characters trying to break cycles and sub -dogs, that’s what I think is most convincing. So this movie really has all these things.”
