Peabody Award -Winner 2025


Netflix was the big winner of this year Peabody AwardsTakes home six awards, most of all networks or streamers. In total, 34 awards were awarded, which represented the most captivating and inspiring stories over the broadcast and streaming in 2024.

The winners were selected from over 1,000 items by a panel with 27 lawyers. Notifications included everything from TV and podcast to documentaries, youth programming and interactive media. In the documentary category, Netflix made victories for Natalie Rae and Angela Patton’s “Daughters”, Lucy Walker’s “Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa,” Benjamin Rees “The Notable Life of Ibelin” and Josh Greenbaums “Will & Harper. Streamer’s other two wins came from the entertainment category for Richard Gadd’s massively popular limited series “Baby Reindeer” as well as for the visually striking “Ripley.”

HBO and Max came in second place when it comes to total prices and secured four wins. It was then followed by PBS with three wins and FX/Hulu and Al Jazeera, who both secured two wins. Documentaries accounted for 12 of the 34 prices, most of any category. It was followed by entertainment with seven prices and four each for interactive/engrossing programming, podcasts/radio and news.

“The winners of the 85th annual Peabody Awards include a wide range of contemporary and historical issues, including the war in Gaza, rural health care, a focus on disabilities, authorism and sexual violence,” said Jeffrey Jones, CEO of Peabody, in a statement. “Whether the enlightening audience about global issues or gives a smile and sense of society through thought -provoking entertainment, these works deserve to be recognized and celebrated.”

Peabody announced previously the winners of two other awards. Andrea Mitchell was named winner by the Peabody Career Achievement Award, and “Saturday Night Live” won the Institutional Award.

The winners of the 85th annual Peabody Awards are celebrated on June 1 at a ceremony at Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles. Roy Wood Jr., the current values ​​for CNN’s “I have received news for you” as well as a former correspondent for “The Daily Show,” will host the event. The ceremony will be produced by Bob Bain Productions.
