Asked which of Ellie’s relationships they were most happy to look at the screen in ”The last of us“Season 2, star Bella Ramsey did not hesitate to choose yours, played by the actress Isabela Merced. Ramsey described the character’s beloved queer love interest as the “most common” person in Ellie’s life this season and gave IndieWire an insight into the odd pardynamics that we saw taking shape in section 3, “The Path.”
“She is so brilliant, and I’m really excited for people to see how wonderful she is and how much light and energy and humor she gives to this season,” Ramsey said of Merced. “She really only had this unmatched energy about her all the time, which was really good to be on a set. When I was like an old tired grandfather, she would be like this little sprite who would come in and just do all the party.”
By reviewing the latest part of the apocalyptic drama, indiege’s leg traversed How Ellie’s way of avenge can affect her self -image. In section 3, we see our mourning hero try on a hardened, cool guy exterior in memory of Joel (Pedro Pascal)-but even admit to itself that it does not fit.
“She tries on a person she admired and lost,” writes traverses, referring to a scene where Ellie admits that she “tries to sound like a badass.” “She’ll be Joel as a way to remember him. ”
Not even Pascal, HBO’s Hunkiest Chilean-American actor, can do romance in the middle of Mushroom-Armageddon to sound like a good idea, but Ellie’s complex grief is the essence of her convincing will-they-won ‘with yours. Throw in Dina’s ex-boyfriend, Jesse (Young tooth), and the story layers that he will bring to the table later, and you have the kind of drama that requires to be a TV show.
“The kind of triangle of the three of us is something that is really cool and was really fun to play,” Ramsey said. “It is really important that we continue to have representation on the screen that does not feel like it is ticking on a box when it comes to representation.”
Merced was known for major adjustments (“Dora and the Lost City of Gold”) and Stora Franchises (“Alien: Romulus”) and be prepared for the pressure that came to adapt “The Last of Us” video game. She told Indiewire, “having that experience of not wanting to upset a fan base with my depiction was essential. And then I myself am a fan, do not want to upset myself, I think, is the greatest fear I have. I am my own worst enemy, my own biggest critic, so I definitely do not want it.”
Mazino described the mood of production and said, “The vibe’s vibe was cooled. The story we created was not.”
