“Jay Kelly” marks the fourth collaboration between Baumbach and Netflix. His last three films, 2017’s “The Meyerowitz Stories (new and selected)”, 2019’s “Marriage History” and 2022’s “White Noise”, were all produced by that streaming giant. “Jay Kelly” is Baumbach’s first director since “White Noise”, although he raised an Oscar nomination in the meantime to cooperate “Barbie” with his partner Greta Gerwig.
