“I don’t understand you” Star stars Nick Kroll and Andrew Rannells want people to see their new comedy – as vertically released in Theaters June 6 – In a dark room with a full audience, how it was supposed to be seen.
“The best films to see in the theater are the ones that make you laugh collectively and be scared shitless collectively, and this film have both of these feelings in spades, ” Kroll told Los Angeles Magazine.
However, calling “I don’t understand you” only a comedy can be an incorrect nomination. The film – which premiered last year at SXSW and also played on The Overlook Film Festival – is a tough movie to categorize without losing spoilers. It is enough to say, Kroll and Rannells will soon play adoptivedador on a “babymoon” in Italy. Things go terrible, terrible wrong.
“It was exciting (when) we got to take this movie to SXSW last year, and it was the first time we saw it with an audience, so it was super satisfying to see their surprise,” Rannells said in an interview with the playlist.
He also said that despite some abominable choices in the film, fans seem to stick to the characters directly to the end.
“The few times we have seen it with an audience, they go strange with us and root for us to get away with it,” Rannells added.
What “it” is, the audience will need to see for themselves in theaters.
Written and directed by real men David Joseph Craig and Brian Crano, the story is partly based on true events.
“The first act in the film is kind of autobiographical,” Craig told La Magazine. “We went on our 10th anniversary trip to Italy, and just before the trip we found out that we had matched with (a) birthmother and that she was because of a couple of weeks. We decided to do (the trip) our baby moon. And at night of our actual anniversary, we drove to this remote resign
What happened to the couple next was certainly not what happens to their cinematic counterparts.
