‘Nadja’ the director’s incision released in 4K by grasshoppers


After 30 years, ”Nadja“Will return to theaters – this time with a 4K director to show off Michael AlmeryaS original vision for the cult vampire film. “Nadja”, executive produced by Late writer David Lynch (which also has a como in the film), first debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival in 1994. Now the 4K restoration of the function will be premiered at TIFF 2025.

Indieview can notify that Grasshopper movies will distribute “Nadja” in 4K. Grasshopper films and Arbelos films acquired the international distribution rights for the new version and will release it in North American theaters at the end of 2025, followed by an edition on streaming platforms.

“Nadja” mixes André Breton’s surrealist from 1928 with the same name with the 1936 movie “Dracula’s Daughter.” Elina Löwensohn plays as the titular young vampire returning to NYC to avenge her father’s death in the hands of Dr. Van Helsing (Peter Fonda). Jared Harris, Martin Donovan, Suzy Amis, Galaxy Craze and Karl Gery co -star.

“Nadja” is shot in black and white 35 mm with pixelvision video by Jim Denault. Almeryda wrote and directed, with Mary Sweeney and Amy Hobby Proding and Lynch Executive Proding.

Almeryda later continued with “Hamlet”, “Experiment” and “Tesla”, among other acclaimed features.

Grasshopper Film was founded in 2015 and releases award -winning independent cinema, including Albert Serra’s “afternoons of loneliness” and Jem Cohen’s “Little, big and far.” Earlier editions include Kleber Mendonça Filho’s “Pictures of Ghosts”, Anirban Dutta and Anupama Srinivasan’s “Nocturnes”, Oksana Karpovych’s “intercepted” and the aforementioned Serra’s “Pacification.”

Arbelos is a Los Angeles-based film distribution and restoration label that releases Canon-Expanding Art House Cinema. The latest editions include new 4K restorations by Marva Nabili’s “The Sealed Soil” and Robina Roses “Nightshift.”
