Nearly two months after Gossip girl actress was found dead in his apartment in New York City At the age of 39, her cause of death was to be established as “complications of diabetes mellitus”, confirmed the NYC Office of Head of Medical Examinator to NBC News April 16.
As a reference, diabetes mellitus is a condition where blood glucose levels (sugar) are too high because the body either does not produce enough insulin or cannot use the insulin it produces effectively, according to Cleveland Clinic.
After completing a review of the original autopsy test results, the medical examiner also confirmed for NBC that her death has been ruled as natural.
Trachtenberg was found dead in his home on the morning of February 26 after officials responded to a 911 call.
Soon after, the actress’s cause of death was ruled as “indefinite”, the New York City Medical Examiner’s Office, confirmed to E! News at that time. Trachtenberg’s family opposed an autopsy, according to Peoplewith reference to the doctor’s office, which led to the decision.
