Mia Sara looks back on filming ‘Ferris Bregel’ Parade

It’s been almost 40 years ago Mia Sara First made an impression on the movie guests in the classic classic “Ferris Bregel’s Day 2016”, an experience that Sara remembers fond – especially filming of the iconic parades sequence. In the scene, Matthew Broderick (alias “Bueller …”) Leads an improvised, elaborate, rag dance squad through the streets of Chicago, which is set on Beatles “Twist and Shout.”

“We would do the dance and then we would get into a van and they would drive us blocks away,” Sara told People. And the camera would go, and then we would do the dance again and wait for Matthew to pass. It was just so crazy “let’s catch it as many times as we can.” So that was a big moment. ”

Sara has not restrained “Ferris Bueller” in a while because she said, “It’s not really fun to look at yourself.” She also does not get so many chances to catch up with her co -stars, which included Jennifer Gray, Alan Ruck and Charlie Sheen, even if they had A Role Reunification on Zoom 2020. However, she has made sure her children watch the movie.

“My children have definitely seen it,” Sara said. “I think when they were younger it was just embarrassing. My kids, because they grew up in Hollywood – they grew up in Los Angeles – they had many friends whose parents were actors who were still really working all the time, and then they were a bit bummed that I stopped working.”

Sara, however, is back in the limelight again Mike Flanagan’s “The Life of Chuck,” Where she plays grandma to the title character.

“I couldn’t believe when Mike (Flanagan) told me that … Mark Hamill would play Grandpa,” she said. “I couldn’t believe it. I’m getting married to Luke Skywalker. That’s the biggest.”

Sara told IndieWire That Flanagan wanted to make the movie as a gift for his children.

“Mike is a wonderful father, and I have children, and we talked about it and how we want the world to be for our children. Then when he sent (the script) to me I couldn’t stop crying and I called him through tears and said,” Are you kidding? You really want me to do this? Yes, of course. Absolutely, “she said.
