Matthew McConaughey returns to the screen with revenge. The iconic actor took a six-year break from live-action roles, and is now back with the moving story of a hero in “The lost bus. ”
McConaughey stars as a Wayward school bus driver who collaborates with a dedicated school teacher (America Ferrera) to save 22 children from a scary inferno. Yul Vazquez, Spencer Watson and Ashlie Atkinson also play. The log line reads: “A definite father risks everything to save a teacher and her students from a furious wildfire.”
Oscar -nominated “United 93” director Paul Greengrass Helms film Which is Inspired by real events. Greengrass and Brad Ingelsby together wrote the feature, based on the book “Paradise: One Town’s struggle to survive an American wildfire” by Lizzie Johnson. Ingelsby, Jason Blum, Jamie Lee Curtis and Gregory Goodman produce Apple Original Film, which the studio considered to be a “white knot ride through one of America’s deadliest fire fires.” Amy Lord and author Johnson produce executive.
“The Lost Bus” is McConaughey’s second edition 2025; He also led “The Rivals of Amziah King” which premiered in March at SXSW. McConaughey told variation That his time away from Hollywood led to his love to act revived.
“I remembered a few things: one, how much I really like to perform. Two, I remembered,” Hi, McConaughey, you are pretty damn good at this, “he said.” And three, I remembered that acting is a holiday for me, and what I mean by vacation is that when I play, it is my individual focus. When I walk out the door in the morning, my wife says: “Go kick some ass. I have kiddos. We’re good.” It’s vacation.
McConaughey is set to reunited with its “True Detective” partner NIC Pizzolatto for a “Mike Hammer” function based on the nature of the private investigator. Pizzolatto wrote the script based on the book series by Mickey Spillane and Max Allan Collins.
“The Lost Bus” premieres in selected theaters on September 19, before debuting globally on Apple TV+ Friday 3 October. Check out the trailer below.
