Macaulay Culkin could have worked with Wes Anderson. But once again Jason Schwartzman’s career may have looked very different if Culkin had …
Culkin said under “Hot Ones” in the video below that he almost played in “Ruschmore” – Had he not been” retired “at that time. Anderson’s 1999 classics City Schwartzman in its first credit on screen. Schwartzman played snappy high school students Max Fischer who develop odd relationships with adults in the periphery in their lives. Culkin now reveals that he was sent the script but never read it until years after film was released.
“Well, you have to understand, at least then, I was retired for at least a large part of it, at least as six or seven years of it,” Culkin said about the break in his child’s acting career. “As if I was just going to high school, I got married too young, things like that, you know. I was actually pretty good at reading. I was a little lively to read through the scripts. But there were a couple that went through.”
He continued, “I remember about two years later kind of cleaning out the house, throwing out the old scripts, and I saw the one I did not read was” Rushmore. “I was like,” Ah dang. Although I cannot imagine that anyone other than Schwartzman did that part.
However, there is still time for Culkin to work with Anderson. With that said maybe Culkin is twist more the way for Jodie Fosterwhich has apparently been offered parts in three different Anderson films but has turned them all.
“Over the years I had so many films that I was trying to get Jodie Foster to be in,” Anderson told Collids. “It used to be every movie, We Went to Jodie Foster for a Part. And I Think I Did Three Movies in a Row, Maybe Four. And I Met Her, And I Like Her. Jodie Foster. But I Guess After Asking Few Times, I Thought Maybe I’m Not… I Think Sometimes Somebody has an idea of the Kind of Work They Want to do at that time in his or her life, and we were not right.
Anderson, however, did not reveal What films in particular He was in contact with fetuses. “Well, I don’t like to say, because if I say, you say,” Oh, you mean so and so, which is in the movie, don’t be your first choice. “And so I don’t want it to be one thing, he said. But anyway, she’s pretty amazing, Jodie Foster.”
