After selling Madison Square Garden during the 11 August stop on her life trip, the 40-year-old had a message to the haters who said she could not do so.
“They said: ‘No way! Msg, it couldn’t be done.’, Katy told the audience at 19,500 inside the iconic NYC arena, Per People. “And I was also afraid.”
“I rolled into New York and it smelled like New York City. And you know what I’m talking about,” Katy told the audience. “It was late at night. We came in from Philly, and it was drunk people who vomited on the same corner as people who made out. It was New York City. And I loved it.”
And even though he travels to New York City several times in his life, Katy admitted that she finally sees the “temptation” in the Big Apple.
“You know why? Because New York City represents life,” Katy – who shares the daughter of daughter Daisy Duva4, with ex Orlando Blom said. “The heights, the flames, I-Betweens, all that is messy, everything that is beautiful, and it is safe because hell is not perfect because perfection is an illusion. And I understood it because I reason with it so much, because one of my favorite words is authenticity. And you are what New York is? Authentic.”
