“I can’t believe in my incredible happiness to have Magnolia, a company that I have admired for many years and distributed my first feature as director,” said director Shannon in a press release. “‘Eric Larue’ is as meaningful to me as all the works I’ve done as an actor, and my intention was to make a movie that might be able to offer healing of some kind around a question that has confused us as a country for quite a long time . That question is arms violence in schools and the endless ruling effect it has on our society.

The film is written by Brett Neveu, which based the script on its game in 2002 with the same name. Sarah Green, Karl Hartman and Jina Panebianco produce the function; Shannon’s often collaborator Jeff Nichols is an executive producer, along with R. Wesley Sierk, John D. Straley, Joseph Panebianco, Declan Baldwin, Byron Wetzel and Meghan Schumacher. “Eric Larue” is a Caliwood pictures, a large Indie and Brace Cove production.

The Indieview review Praised the drama for being a “haunting, prominent film with a career best performance from Greer.”

The review reads: “Janice is pressed at every turn, even by her boss, to participate in A sit-down therapy session With the three mothers of the deceased boys that Janice’s son Eric murdered. While Janice avoids visiting Eric in jail, she is demolished between cleaning out her room and struggling with the role of faith and religion. Is she the obligation for her son’s actions? And if not, who is? Greer is a force on the screen, opposite a barely recognizable Skarsgård, which completely deepens a performance that should make comparisons with a chameleon -like Cosplay by Jeff from ‘Yellowjackets’ (in the best way). Both characters seek forgiveness from each other as parents and from society at large. ”

“Eric Larue” premieres in theaters April 4 from Magnolia Pictures. Check out the trailer below.
