The actor turned writer and director JUAN PABLO AT TAKE Make his feature debut with a decades that are spanning meta-romantics. “Before we forget” is an astonishingly beautiful depiction of trying (and sometimes fails) to remember every detail in our first love. Di pace leads film Like Matias, an Argentine filmmaker who struggles with an unfinished film inspired by his friendship with a Swedish classmate he met at the boarding school in 1997. The film travels through time, with the characters Matias and Alexander, each shared by two aforementioned actors. The roles of the Romans and Paolo are also played by dual actors: for Roma, Araceli González as a teenager and Marta Beatriz Maineri as an adult, with Paolo played by Tomás Kirzner at a younger age and Juan Cruz Márquez de la Serna in modern day. The rollist also includes Fabián Mazzei, Sarah Parish, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Julia Bender, Krista Kosonen, Vittorio di Pace, Lini Evans, Agustina Locouna and Joaquín Gaitan.
Filmmaker Di Pace told Indiewire that “Before We Forget” is his own “cinematic answer” on Claude Debussy’s “afternoon by a faun.”
“There is this sensitive longing in that music – a dreamy, teenage pain for someone who is holy sensual,” said Di Pace. “That quality, both epic and intimate, became a guiding light for the tone of our film.”
When it comes to Drama’s personal nature, di Pace, “I think every storyteller leaves a trace of themselves in their work. In our case, Andrés, my co-director, and I wanted to tell a story that is anchored in our own experiences. We pulled from people we knew, places we loved and situations that felt intimate.
Di continued, “This movie has 30 years of friendship between Andrés and me – we met in high school back in 1995. It is filled with soul and memory. But more than anything, we hope” before we forget “reminds people of a kind of tenderness we start to lose in the cinema. It is not a movie that needs to shock or explode. of their first love and for teens who live it for the first time, right now. ”
“Before We Forget” is produced by Di Pace, Guillermo Escalona, Amanda Lenker Doyle and Alvaro R.
