With Legacy sequel “I know what you did last summer” (Same title, other movie) less than a month away from the release, franchise Stalwart Jennifer Love Hewitt sat down with extra To discuss her return to the series – a return that she says she never expected.
“When I heard that it was happening, I think my honest reaction was:“ Oh my gosh. It’s good for them. “I never even depicted them and asked me to do it,” Hewitt said. For the “9-1-1” star, her reprisal by Julie James acts as a bridge between the generation that embraced the first film and younger audience.
“I have confidence that the mothers who buy these tickets for their daughters to watch the movie are there because they remember who Julie was, and they are where I am now, and we carry it with pride,” Hewitt explained. “And so … their children will love all the young people in the movie and I’m there for the moms.”
The original filmbased on the classic teen novel by Lois Duncan (that had its own fascinating backstory), found a group of teens persecuted by a masked killer with a hook in the summer after they beat a man with a car and sought it out.
