Jason Momoa Stars in Teaser for Apple’s sweeping “War Manager”

History is often told by the “victories” – even though their path was wrong.

For example, it is a convenient heroic story to tell the story of a country founded by free people who rebelled against an oppressive monarchical regime. It is less convenient to tell it from the perspective to everyone they went on to get freedom (and sometimes cross -border thanks to systemic deletion). US history is filled with the lost stories from the indigenous people, but Jason Momo And Thomas Pa’a Sibbett’s “War Manager” wants to change it.

The upcoming apple TV+ Drama is a passion project for both Sibbett and Momoa, which also serves as a star and writer and directed the season finale. He plays Ka’iana, a warrior trying to unite the people of Hawai’i against European settlers in the late 18th century. The English navigator John Meeres described His “Herculean appearance” as “filled with dignity” and has “an air of distinction.” A minute-teaser gives only a glimpse of the ambitious scale in this nine-section-series-underlying places, detailed costumes and massive battle sequences that require background actors, spears and ships. (And was it a shark ??)

This is Momoa’s second major collaboration with Apple after the three-season sci-fi thriller “see” from creator Steven Knight (where he also played a brave warrior). With him in the role is Luciane Buchanan (“The Night Agent”), Temuera Morrison (“Star Wars: Attack of the Clones” and “The Book of Boba Fat”), te Ao o Hinepinghinga, Cliff Curtis, Newcomer Kaina Makua, Moses’ goods, siu tuh Roots. Grammy and the Oscar-award-winning composer Hans Zimmer wrote the show’s main music for the main title and co-produced point with composer James Everingham. Doug Jung serves as showrunner and executive together with Sibbett, Peter Chernin, Jenno Toping, Tracey Cook and Brian Mendoza. Justin Chon directs the first two episodes and serves as an executive producer. Anders Engstrom, Jim Rowe, Molly Allen, Francis Lawrence and Tim van Patten also serve as executive producers.

“Chief of War” premieres August 1 on Apple TV+, with new episodes that will be broadcast every Friday to September 19. See the entire teaser below.
