We’re about to see a lot of first looks at upcoming 2025 movies that will keep our minds and hearts captivated by imagination. What we know about How to train your dragonpp The live-action remake has that picture all set to become such a title, and we now have a teaser for director Dean DeBlois’ efforts to translate the animated hit he helped create. And since the marketing people included the one scene I needed to convince me that this remake will work, I’m pretty confident that opinion will hold.
Our first trailer didn’t show much of that How to train your dragons throwbecause the only prominent people we really got to focus on were Gerard Butler‘s Stoick the Vast, Nick Frost’s Gobber the Belch and Mason Thames Toothless the…boy. Hi, this is the first film in Dragon series, and we’re back to see our young rider strike out to become the hero we know he’ll turn out to be.
Which brings us to the one scene that makes this work. As you might have guessed, we got our first look at the photorealistic Toothless, which was a given no matter how you stretch it. However, we do get to see the iconic moment where Hiccup decides to spare the Night Fury’s life, and instead makes himself a friend.
Is anyone else crying in here? Seriously, that is the moment as whole How to train your dragon the universe turns on. And history proves this notion to be correct, as we happened to see this beautiful scene in the original promotion for the 2010 original. For proof, check out this trailer for the DreamWorks Animation classic:

Realm of upcoming children’s films 2025 will be quite competitive, as we also have the likes of Paddington in Peru wants to milk people’s tear ducts of their precious tears. And just by the looks How to train your dragonwe don’t just copy the magic of the animated movies in live action.
What we’ve shown here is visually sweeping and beautiful, and I’m curious to see how the finished product will perform in more of the color that its CGI counterpart had. Also with Nick Frost houses Mason Thames and his comedic prowess, I can’t wait to see how his awkward Hiccup fares against Nico Parker’s Astrid.
In any case, even with my hopes for How to train your dragon all in all I can say I’m still pretty confident we’re seeing something beautiful take shape. I still hope DreamWorks live-action ambitions turning away from remakes and more towards unrealized projects finally getting that moment in the production sun. But if this means we will be just as captivating Dragon remakes of the rest of the series (and maybe an expansion using some of the streaming series/source material lore), then I’ll have my helmet ready when that time comes.
Thankfully, we all have time to prepare as How to train your dragons new invention takes to the skies, only in theaters, on June 13, 2024.
