Best documentary is the toughest category to call: “Porcelain War” competes with “No other country” and “sugar cane.”
At the same time, Netflix Juni-to-December 2024 indicates viewers’ data as views were low for films such as “Maria” (800,000 views) and “Emilia Pérez” (1,500,000 views). The “piano lesson”, turned off Oscars, was larger (5,100,000 views).
We end with a tribute to the late large Genhackman. We both chose “Night moves” as our favorite Hackman movie. For decades, the actor showed mastery of the actors’ craft: he could play scary villains (“unforgettable”), complicated heroes (“conversation”) and anti -heroes (“the French connection”).
