Helen Mirren have no love for James Bond franchise.
The British actress told The standard That she “never liked” the movies because of their “deep sexism.” In turn, Mirren explained why there would be no female binding in the middle of the franchise shaking at Amazon MGM after long-term producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson Ceded creative control in a billion Dollar business with the studio. Instead, Mirren believes that the real stories of real women’s spies should instead be brought to the screen over a gender -swinged bond.
“The whole series of James Bond, it wasn’t my thing. It really wasn’t. I never liked James Bond. I never liked as women were in James Bond,” Mirren said. “The whole concept of James Bond is drenched and born of deep sexism. Women have always been a great and extremely important part of Secret Service. They have always been. And very brave. If you hear about what women did in the French resistance, they are incredibly, incredibly brave. So I would say Real stories about extraordinary women that has worked in that world. ”
However, the mirror respects at least two earlier 007s: Daniel Craig and her “mob mix” co-star Pierce Brosnan.
“I’m a big fan of Pierce Brosnan, I mean massive fan,” Mirren said. “Of course he is wonderful and everything. And I think he is fantastic in ‘Mob mixed’, but he also happens to be one of the nicest people you ever have the pleasure to work with. And actually Daniel Craig, whom I have met and know a little. Again, a very wonderful gracious person.”
After the Amazon Mgm -store, Producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman are on the way up Bond -Franchis. Although there have been no announcements yet where the franchise will go next, The concept of a female bond has been moved for more than half a century. Broccoli previously said that during her term of office, however Bond would always be male.
“No time to die” actress Ana de Armas united with Broccoli 2022 and said: “There is no need for a female bond. There should be no need to steal someone else’s character, you know, to take over. This is a novel, and it leads in this James Bond world and this imagination about the universe where he is.”
Arms Added“What I would like is that the female roles in the Bond films, although Bond will continue to be a man, come to life in a different way. That they get a more extensive part and recognition. That is what I think is more interesting than turning things.”
