A jury found that the former Hollywood producer who was guilty of one of the three gender offenses In its New York retail on June 11. Weinstein was convicted of the charges of a criminal sexual act in the first degree, which originated from his alleged 2006 abuse by former production assistant Miriam Haley.
He was not found guilty of an accusation of a criminal sexual act in the first degree of his alleged attack by Kaja Sokola 2002. The jury has not yet reached a judgment on the third bill, which relates to the alleged rape for prospective actress in 2013 Jessica Mann. (Deliberations will continue on June 12.)
Weinstein, 73, was originally found guilty of the third degree rape and a bill of criminal sexual act in the first degree during its trial 2020, resulting in a 23-year sentence behind bars, per NBC News.
But his conviction was turned in April 2024, with the court which established that wrong testimony had been allowed at the trial.
“We conclude that the trial incorrectly admitted testimonies of uncharged, alleged previous sexual acts against persons other than the complainants of the underlying crimes,” said the court, “because the testimony did not earn any significant non-prenations.”
