During his career, Maika Monroe has emerged as one of our most reliable modern screaming kings. Between the “guest”, “It follows,” “Watcher”, “Greta”, “villains,” “Longlegs,” “Tau,” and many more, when you see her name in horror movie credits, you can usually bet that Monroe will be the blood soaked final girl that we all cheer on to the bitter end.
So it makes it all the more interesting to her next Horror Feature, a new recording of Curtis Hanson’s horror hit from 1992 ”The hand that rocks the cradle“(Who played Rebecca de Mornay and Annabella Sciorra), Monroe is this time playing villain. Per it filmS official synopsis: “Mary Elizabeth Winstead Stars like Caitlin Morales, an exclusive suburban mother who brings with her a new child girl, Polly Murphy (Maika Monroe), in her home, just to discover that she is not the person she claims to be. ”
If you have seen Hanson’s film or at all familiar with its concept, you know that grandchildren are not our sympathetic heroine here. She is the one who makes the rocking (of all kinds! Physically, mentally and emotionally!) And to increase the life of a seemingly pleasant and normal suburban family. What a delicious twist for Monroe.
