Director Ezra Edelman Speaks to the government of goods approved (and in his opinion, therefore sanitized) celebrity documentaries. This is not,” said Edelman. “But people were defensive when it comes to that, as if (prince) was what much people love. And the whole point of it actually reflected a trip he went through.
“Prince Book”, however, included accusations that Prince was emotionally and physically abusive, because the artist’s protégé and former partner Jill Jones said in the documentation. Jones played in Prince’s films “Purple Rain” and “Graffiti Bridge.” Jones claimed in “The Book of Prince” that Prince punched her in the face “over and over” again, among other alleged incidents.
Edelman believes that the introduction of the charges against Prince may partly be why the series was scrapped by the legal hand in the yard, even though Edelman said there were no “actual problems” with the content.
