Fernanda Torres, Rasoulof’s Mohammad, Brizy Stephen, Maur Delperro and Cristian Mungiu will join Alexander Payne in the international jury for the 82nd Venice Film Festival, which takes place on August 27 – September 6, 2025.
As announced in April, Payne will be the head of the international jury. On Friday, with the recommendation from the festival’s artistic director Alberto Barb, the board of La Biennale announced the additional jurors.
The most recent best actress Oscar -nominated Torres (for Walter Salles “I’m Still here”) will judge the festival’s films together with the French director and screenwriter Stéphane Brizé (“Mademoiselle Chambon,” “Aneher World”, “Out of Season”; (“Maternal”, “Vermiglio”); Romanian writer, director and producer Cristian Mungiu (“Occident”, “4 months and 2 days”, “Beyond the Hills”); Chinese actress Zhao Tao (“Platform” “Ash is Purest White”, “Caught by Tide”).
The jury will give Golden Lion, Silver Lion – Grand Jury Prize, Silver Lion for Best Director, Coppa Volpi for Best Actress, Coppa Volpi For best actors, a best script prize, the special jury award and “Marcello Mastroianni” Assign For best new young actors or actress.
