2025 Emmys will take place this Sunday in the midst of a gloomy reality of arms violence that has rippled throughout the country, but the show’s producers hope to introduce the 77th ceremony with escapism in the middle of tragedy.
“We always try to be aware of what is happening in the world, but we also want to give people three hours of escape,” Ep Jesse Collins told Thewrap on Thursday morning. “Let’s … celebrate our favorite programs and the show, the people who have (been) nominated who worked so hard to get these nominations, we want to give them their flowers.”
“We want to celebrate the past … We want to celebrate what TV gives us,” Collins continued, pointing to tributes for beloved series celebrating the milestone anniversary this year, including “Golden Girls”, “Survivor”, “Gilmore Girls”, “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Law and order.”
“It has obviously been a tough week, but … We are happy about the TeleCast, it has been a good year for television,” Tv -Academy’s chairman Cris Abreco told Thewrap and noted that the nominated series is filled with “real, authentic stories.”
If there is someone who can succeed in hitting the right tone, the producers and the TV Academy Heads feel confident that it is Nate Bargatze, who hosts its first major price show this Sunday. “I think he has the power to unite everyone at this moment where we need it,” said President and CEO Maury McIntyre, describing Bargatze as the “perfect values, especially in a time like this.”
Collins added that Bargatze’s standup exemplifies the tone he will hit on Sunday evening, with EP Jannae Rouzan-Clay that annoys him “putting a really fun, easy, steady tone” for the evening.
“We … take his lead when it comes to the tone he wants to put in the evening,” said Rouzan-Clay, leaving that he usually has “a little for everyone.” “His comedy reason with everyone – that’s why we love him … He feels like the guy you can go up to and say hello to.”
After Alexis Belder and Lauren Graham’s announcement as presenters earlier this week triggered scraps by a “Gilmore Girls” reunification, the producers confirmed that Emmys would mark the show’s 25th anniversary with a set revealed by the two leading ladies. It will not be the only set that was revealed throughout the night, with Emmys recreating the iconic “Golden Girls” kitchen, which will be adorned by Reba Mentire, Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman when they sing the show’s theme.
Similarly, Emmys will highlight the 50th season of Survivor with a special moment for host Probst, while the 35th anniversary of “Law & Order” will be celebrated by Mariska Hargitay, Tony Goldwyn and Christopher Meloni as well as others from all over the franchise, and “Grey’s anatomy” 20 -year -old 20 -year -olds 20 -year -olds.
As the Streaming series continues to dominate Emmy nominations (with the exception of ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” and a lead actress Nick for Kathy Bates for CBS’s “Matlock”), these anniversaries tributes are a way for EPS to light a light on broadcast series, with abrera and rouzan and Rouzan-Ceg

“‘Law & Order,’ ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ – all of these are celebrated and there are main broadcasts,” said McIntyre, noting the team’s hope of celebrating their “broadcast partners.”
As usual, the show will include its annual in the Memoriam segment, which will have a performance from Lainey Wilson and Vince Gill from Gill’s “Go Rest High On That Mountain.” And there are many celebrities who will join the party, including recently announced presenters Brad Garrett, Young Mazino, S. Epatha Mercerson, Hunter Schafer, Ray Romano and Ice T.
When the TV Academy prepares to negotiate the next broadcast agreement for Emmys, which is currently expiring in 2026, Abrego refrained from discussing the details of future negotiations, but said the team is “sure Emmys will find us presence.” “We’re happy in the next few years,” McIntyre said.
Emmys broadcast on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at 17.00 pt/20.00 et at CBS and streams live on Paramount+ Premium.
