The largest shaved female heads in bio history are undoubtedly Renée Falconetti in “La Passion de Jeanne d’Arc” and Sigourney Weaver in “Alien 3.” Between these two poles of follicle-free cinema lies a universe of filmmaking-and a new entry is entering its rank: Yorgos LanthimosS “Bugonia“Who just released its official trailer timed to his Venice debut (It had already shown pictures of cinemacon).
“Bugonia” plays the director’s now repeated partner Emma Stone as a company’s CEO who lives life: Power suits, indoor pools, time and Forbes blankets. The only irritation in her life is to make sure she nails the piece of company jargon that she should make sounds naturally in a video game. Then she is kidnapped, her head shaved by her away drivers, and she has said that the hair “has been destroyed” to prevent her from using it to contact her motherhood.

Jesse Plemons plays the driver, a conspiracy theorist who modes himself as the leader of human resistance to what he believes is a strange takeover of the earth … and he thinks Stone’s CEO is a strange. So we guess in the spectrum “shaved main cinemas”, this will turn closer to “Alien 3.”
“Bugonia” is a Venice premiere and is Stone’s fourth team with Lanthimos after “The Favorite”, “Poor Things” and “kind of kindness.” It is written by the “menu” writer Will Tracy, who also wrote for “Succession”, so really expect a pointed satire. And it’s a new recording of the South Korean film 2003 “Save the Green Planet!”
