Why Mark Cuban says he rejected Kamala Harris VP offer before the 2024 election
This security detail is no longer so secret.
President Donald Trump has recalled previous vice president Kamala Harris‘Secret Service Detail, a senior adviser for Harris told NBC News August 29th.
“The Vice President is grateful for the secret service of the United States,” shared the adviser, “for their professionalism, commitment and steadfast commitment to security.”
Although vice presidents usually only receive six months of protection when leaving their office – compared to presidents and their spouses who get it for life – form president Joe Biden Signed an executive Memorandum in January that increased Harris’s protection against what would have been July 21 to an 18-month period. However, the 82-year-old’s order had never been published until now.
In a letter August 28 entitled Memorandum for the Secretary of Homeland Security ” and is obtained by CNNTrump wrote: “You hereby have permission to cancel all security -related procedures previously approved by Executive Memorandum, in addition to those required by law, for the following individual, from September 1, 2025: Former Vice President Kamala D. Harris.”
