Dave Portnoy apologizes for the role in “Evil Rumors” to “destroyed” the life of the college student
Dave Portnoy owns up to a mistake.
After the University of Mississippi student Mary Kate Cornett expressed their disappointment at celebrity personalities as podcasters at Portnoys Barstool Sports and ESPNs Pat McAfee Portnoy, who understood a false story that she had sex with her boyfriend, said he understood why she was “cursed.”
“It’s a malicious rumor,” Portnoy told NBC News ” Tom llama On NBC Nightly News April 10. “I’m sorry, and I wish we didn’t matter in it.”
In February Kevin Clancy and Jack McGuire, Each one weighed in on rumors online in now-erased posts on X. And while he previously denied the company’s involvement in a statement to Police stonePortnoy now says to reinforce the story on Barstool’s platform “practically destroyed” the 19-year-old’s life.
At the same time, McAfee recently referred to his own incorrect error in the viral attack on Cornett. Although he did not mention the student by name, he said during a live event for his show on April 9 that he “did not want to add more negativity as it took place”, per Athleticand “will try to make a kind of silver lining in a very terrible situation.”
