Chelsea Handler thanks Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni for distracting everyone from La Wildfires

Chelsea Handler hosted Critics Choice Awards and opened the show and thanked Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni for a much needed “distraction” from the latest LA fire fires.

The comedian briefly acknowledged the fires and the tough time Los Angeles has met since they broke out in early January. Then she made sure that praise was thrown at her feet on “it ends with us” costs to give everyone something else to focus on.

“I want to admit that we have undergone a lot lately, not just here in Los Angeles, but our entire country, wake up every day without knowing what news we will hear that will disappoint or scare us,” she said. “So it’s important in times like these to have a distraction, which is why I personally want to extend my gratitude to Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively.”

Handler continued, “Thank you for giving us that distraction. I am grateful. I think we are all grateful and I think we are good. I think everyone in this room, regardless of whose side you are, we can all agree to accept that it will probably not be a sequel. It ends with us guys. “

Handler also raised his story with E! – The network that sends the award. She spent several years with the network hosting her late night show “Chelsea recently” and cracked wisely on how much easier it is for women to break into that space for a decade after leaving the air.

“I spent seven years on this network, and during that time I was the only woman hosting a late night show,” she said. “Now, 11 years later, look how far we have come. By 2025, the easiest way is to get a talk show on late night as a woman to get the creators of “hacks” to write a fictional story about it. “

The 30th annual Critics Choice Awards finally took place at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica after two delays because of the Los Angeles fires. “Conclave” and “Wicked” received the most nominations with 11 each, followed by “Dune: Part II” and “Emilia Pérez” with 10 nominations each.
