Charlie Kaufman is back for the first time in five years.

“Later war” follows a man (Redmayne) who makes dreams for people but instead begins to create nightmares for his clients. The script is based on Iddo Gefen’s short story “Debby’s Dream House”, which is part of the “Jerusalem Beach” collection.
Ken Kao and Josh Rosenbaum from Waypoint Entertainment will produce the “later war”, along with Sarah Green from Brace Cove Productions and Steven Demmler. The film will be fully financed by Suraj Maraboyina’s 131 images, with WME Independent and CAA Media Finance representing the film’s global distribution rights.

Kaufman recently made his Animated script debut “Orion and the Dark”, which he adapted from Emma Yarlett 2014 Children’s Picture Book. The author/director is also executive Collaborator Duke Johnson’s director’s debut “The actor.” Kaufman and Johnson co -directed “anomalisa,” With Johnson who also served as a producer of animation at Kaufman’s “I’m thinking about ending things.”

The Japanese book was published in an English translation in 2019 and was a finalist for the National Book Award and International Booker Price.
