Charlie Kaufman prepares to take their new card film “How to shoot a ghost” to the Venice International Film Festival next month, but it won’t be long before Cinephiles with public library cards get the chance to look at it. Indieview can exclusively reveal it Kanopy -The ad -free streaming service Free for many library card holders To use – has signed as a producer and the exclusive library and the education distributor of the film.
“How to shoot a ghost” is directed by Kaufman and written by poet Eva HD, who previously wrote Kaufman’s 2023 short “Jackals & Fireflies.” Per an official synopsis follows the movie “Two newly consuming young people who meet on Athens streets, in the midst of the vibrant cityscape and ghosts in its history. One is a translator, the other a photographer; they were outsiders in life and in death they fight with remains of their long -term and mistakes. Josef Akiki and Jessie Buckley.
The collaboration with Kaufman marks the latest ambitious expansion for Kanopy. The service, which was launched in 2008 and is now available to over 50% of the library card holders in the United States, released their first original filmBookbanning document “Forbidden together” in April 2025.
