Carrie Coon refers to ‘The White Lotus’ inside the Criterion’s wardrobe

For those who follow Carrie Coon On social media, you know that she is one of the most vocal advocates in the physical media game, with her husband Tracy Lets who owns thousands of DVDs and Blu-rays and constantly expose her to new material every day. At her visit to CriterionCoon quickly pointed out that she had access to essentially a whole wall with older editions and would instead only focus on new editions. One of these articles happened to be Jean Eustaches “The Mother and the Whore,” As Coon realized had more than a few details in common with a popular show she is currently at.

“So I’ll start with this Eutachen film“Modern and the whore.” And this is new and it’s a 4k. We have a 4K player, “Coon said.” So I’ll take this for, hey, who doesn’t want to take over, intimate dialogue? That’s very “white lotus.”

Then Coon decided to join Richard Pryor drama “Jo Jo Dancer, your life calls”, which she had not seen before, but followed it up with an “underrated” gem that she considers to be a favorite, “Crossing Delancey” from author/director Joan Micklin Silver.

“She was a fantastic filmmaker. She was not allowed to make enough movies. But ‘Crossing Delancey’ is special to me because I used to watch movies in my grandparents’ house and this movie was one of my grandfather’s favorite movies,” Coo said. “It’s a fantastic movie and really catches an era in New York that can only be caught during that time period in film.”

Shouts out another show she is a part of, Coon brought up period drama “The gilded age” And how the coming season will contain one of the talents involved in Todd Solondz’s “Happiness”.

“Dylan Baker actually appears on the gilded age this year, like this type of small, supportive part. And we were all so star -stroke because of (” happiness “),” she said. “If you haven’t seen it, you should. In fact, take a copy home if someone comes over. Or if I need a hostess gift to a party.”
