The “Severance” star Britt Lower Found a brilliant way to pay tribute to Apple TV+ series while accepting the award Sunday evening for outstanding principal actress in a drama series on 2025 Emmys.
The Easter egg in question was discovered by Eagle-Eyed Emmy’s viewers, who noted online that Lower had scored three words in all hats on the back of the paper containing her acceptance number. The three words? “Drop me out.”
Lower, especially, did not refer to the not so hidden message, but “severance pay” fans have become accustomed to looking for easy to miss details and clues.

The message is, of course, a nod to “Severrance” and specifically Lower’s “Innie” character in the show, Helly R. Helly writes the same words on her arms during a memorable stage in “Severance” season 1. Beyond that, Helly and her colleagues “Severrance” Innies have spent the entire show and demanded that they let go of the show and demanded that they let go of All work floors.
Lower’s scribbled Emmy’s message, in other words, suggests naughty that it was not Helly R. who accepted the chief actress Emmy Sunday evening, but her “Outie” I, Helena.
“It is a privilege to even be mentioned together with such an incredible group of artists,” Lower said during his speech, referring to his nominated principal actress this year. “I share this award with my heroic role and crew whose work is catalyzed mine.”
“Thanks to my mom and my dad, my brother, my husband, our children, our co -parents, our chosen family. I love you so much,” Lower added. “Thanks for this. And thank you (to) Helly R. for choosing me.”
“Severance” Season 2 netted the most Emmy nominations of any of this year’s nominated shows. In addition to lower, her “Severance” co -star Tramell Tillman also took home Emmy Sunday evening for outstanding support actors in a drama series.
