“The diplomat“Gets another upswing of star power: the buzzy political drama gives Bradley Whitford Into the fold of a “West Wing” reunion with Allison Janney, whose character was the catalyst for jaw -taking events in season 2.
Keri RussellOf course is back as Ambassador Kate Wyler, with Rufus Sewell as her Fixer husband who may have only made international relationships even worse. Season 3 Synopsis reads: “Ambassador Kate Wyler (Russell) lives the special nightmare that gets what you want. She only accused Vice President Grace Penn (Janney) to hatch a terrorist -and admitted that she is after VP’s job. But now the president is dead. Kate vice vice -vice -vice -vice -vice -vice.
Eight episodes of season 3 also play Ali Ahn, Rory Kinnar, Ato Essandoh, Michael McKean, Nana Mensah and Miguel Sandoval. Whitford told Tudum that it was an honor to join the ensemble. “I became proud of when I heard that (Creator) Debora (Cahn) was interested in doing something,” Whitford said. “I had no idea what it was. I love the show. I was jealous to write on this show. I love Keri. I love Rufus. And I hear Allison Janney is good at acting too. It’s a fantastic role.”
Creator, showrunner and writer Cahn recently received The effects of the storytelling award on ATX TV Festival. She told indifire 2024 that she had a lot of plans for the third season. “When we find out if we do a season 3, I will come up with a really good thing that will happen,” Cahn said. “I have ideas. I like to take them to a writer’s room and say,” Please give me a better idea than this. “I don’t go in with nothing, but I want a lot to be a live, organic process where we figure out (it) I don’t want to grow for attached to any idea I don’t think my idea is always the best.
