Billy Joel May be the piano man, but he won’t sing his song tonight.
The 75-year-old revealed that he is currently recovering from a recent medical procedure and has postponed eight of his upcoming concert stops, in some cases with over a year.
“Billy Joel’s upcoming concert date will be re -planned due to a medical condition,” a statement shared to the musician’s Instagram March 11 Read. “The current tour will be postponed for four months to allow him to recover from the latest surgery and undergo physical therapy under the monitoring of his doctors.”
For his part, Joel, who said he is expected to make a complete recovery from the unseen procedure, shared his grief that he had to plan his tour date.
“While I regret postponing some shows, my health must come first,” he added in the statement. “I look forward to coming back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our fantastic fans. Thanks for your understanding. “
And while Joel – whose upcoming dates also have features Stevie Nicks and Sting-No established on February 8 and February 22, his recently announced postponements are not the only programs this year where the “Uptown Girl” singer has had to adapt his scheduled performances. In fact, he revealed another delay in January due to a medical procedure.
