Book fans have been waiting for this for a while: the trailer for “Long Bright River“With the lead role Amanda Seyfriedhas finally arrived.
The Peacock Limited series, Based on the best -selling thriller by Liz MooreFollows Mickey (Seyfried), a “police patrolling a Philadelphia neighborhood hard hit by the opioid crisis,” per press release. “When a series of murder begins in the neighborhood, Mickey realizes that her personal story may be related to the case.”
The novel handles complicated families, the opioid crisis and counting with your past – very similar subjects as HBO’s Twisty “Mare of Easttown“To which creator certainly hopes that this program will receive a similar reception.
In a remark to press, “Long Bright River” co -creator/showrunner Nikki Tuscano wrote partly, “perhaps what pulled me the most was the possibility of what this show could achieve in his ambition to increase stereotypes: by those born of the born to poverty and abuse, by those who do sex work, by those who have been written off or marginalized after they seem to have fallen through The cracks in their community, and finally of those engaged in police work. In fact, what makes the “Long Bright River” as unique as a series that it aims to deconstruct the “police as a Savior” story – a journey drawn through our main character, Mickey Fitzpatrick. ”
2025 will be a big year for Seyfried: In addition to “Long Bright River”, she will also appear in an adaptation of another best -selling book, “The Housemaid. “That movie, directed by Paul Feig and also in the lead role Sydney Sweeney, will meet theaters later this year. She is too Set to start in the mysterious musical “Ann Lee,” (Already filmed) from “The Brutalist” team Mona Fastvold and Brady Corbet. Seyfried was last seen on television in his Emmy-winning tour as the infamous Elizabeth Holmes in Hulus “The Dropout.”
In addition to Seyfried, “Long Bright River” will start Nicholas Pinnock, Ashleigh Cummings, Callum Vinson and John Doman. Recurring guest stars include Dash Mihok, Britne Oldford, Matthew del Negro, Harriet Sansom Harris, Patch Darragh and Perry Mattfeld.
Beyond Moore, Seyfried and Tuscano include other executive producers Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty and Amanda Lewis for original film; Amy Pascal for Pascal Pictures; and Russell Rothberg.
“Long Bright River” will debut all eight -hour episodes on March 13, 2025 at Peacock.
