Aimee Lou Wood describes shooting ‘The White Lotus’ as ‘So Extreme’

Shooting a hit TV Showing at a luxury place in Thailand for seven months is not as fun as it may sound. For the third part by his hit HBO anthology series ”The white lotus“Creator Mike White pulled out his ensemble role from every corner of the world to create yet another sun-tight and anxiety-insaging murder mystery among society’s elites. Leaving the comfort of her British islands, Aimee Lou Wood Joined the squadthat include Boyfriend Walton Goggins on the screenLeslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Michelle Monaghan, Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, Lisa from Blackpink and more.

“I will never have such an experience again,” Wood said in A new interview with The Guardian. “It was so extreme. So the funny pieces were incredible, so special. The sea, the landscape, it was majestic. Mike is a genius. Everyone involved is fantastic, it is only the circumstances are quite extreme. ”

Earlier in his interview, Wood pointed to its distrust about being able to have such an opportunity as part of the reason why it was so difficult to adapt to her surroundings.

“I don’t know if I would describe it as fun,” she said. “There were fun moments. It was more like … fantastic – in real sense I was Surprised of what happened. How am I in Thailand? Living in a hotel, which we also movies in? It was like a social experiment. ”

While other role members managed to schedule some trips home during the long shooting, “Wood never had a great bit of time” to get away, as her character proved to be an integral part of the season’s overall plot. However, not having a chance to differ from the role made it to maintain one’s own identity to a challenge and soon others in production began to notice.

“One day I had my hair done and Miia (Kovero, the hair and makeup artist) was, who,” you have to go home. I don’t know who I’m talking to more, Aimee or Chelsea. “I was completely abstract,” Wood said. “Everyone becomes their character to a certain extent, but I didn’t even know who I was.”

Wood admitted that when she arrived in Thailand, “she stopped going to therapy”, although she could have maintained her sessions over Zoom. She pointed to this as a likely reason why she struggled to “keep the madness in the distance” and accept her actual identity rather than the character she embodied.

“Maybe I can’t do jobs that take me away from home for seven months,” Wood told Guardian. “And maybe that’s ok. I want to be the girl who can go to Thailand and not get angry, but I’m not that girl. “

“The White Lotus” is now broadcast on HBO and streams on Max with new episodes which are released every Sunday.
