Kim Taylor-Coleman was appointed chairman of the Academy Foundation Board for the semester 2025-2026 on Thursday. Taylor-Coleman, a Casting Director, joins 11 other individuals named to the Board for next year; She will serve as the Academy Foundation Chairman of the Board the same year as an Performance in Casting Oscar will be awarded for the first time.
Joining Taylor-Coleman in the Academy Foundation Board are four colleagues. Brooke Breton, which comes from the academy’s visual effects, will serve as vice president. The ISIS Mussen of the Costume Designers Branch will also be vice chairman of the board. Documentary branch member Simon Kilmurry will be the board of directors. The animation branch Marlon West was appointed secretary.
Seven additional members were also named Academy Foundation Board on Thursday: Paul Cameron (Cinematograpers Branch), Patricia Cardoso (directors Branch), Peter Devlin (Sound Branch), Lynette Howell Taylor (Producer Branch), Larry Karasze Branch) and Dana Steveven’s (Dana Stevens (Stevens (Sterve).
The Academy Foundation serves as the branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which is responsible for all educational, preservation activities and cultural activities. This includes Academy Museum of Motion Pictureswhich was opened in 2021. Academy Foundation also monitors Academy Collection, Academy Film Archive, Academy’s Margaret Herrick Library and Academy’s Talent Development Programs.

Each of the 12 new members of the Academy Foundation Board is also the Academy Board of Governors members. The 12 members and officers will serve one year’s condition. Three of them (Howell Taylor, Kilmurry and Taylor-Coleman) will represent the Academy Foundation Board at Academy Museum Board of Trustes For the same semester.
