“Portrait of a lady on fire” actress Noémie Merlant stars as title character in Diwans Modern re -examination by Emmanuelle Arsan’s novel from 1967. The official synopsis for the film reads: “While he is in business in Hong Kong, Emmanuelle Kei, a man who constantly avoids her. “Emmanuelle” opened San Sebastián Film Festival 2024. The feature was internationally distributed by Pathé. Chantelouve, rectangle productions and goodfellas produce.

Diwan previously debuted with “Losing It” with Celine Sallette and Pio Marmaï. Her second film, “Happening”, won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival 2021. The same year she was part of the official jury at the San Sebastian festival, where she returned to the premiere “Emmanuelle”. 2023 she was Was assigned to the best script César With co -authors and director Valerie Donzelli for “L’Amour et les foreets” (“Just The Two of Us”).

“Emmanuelle” is co -written by Diwan and Rebecca Zlotowsky.
