It has been a pace since Bill Skarsgård played Pennywise in both “IT” films (released in 2017 and 2019 respectively), but “Nosferatu” and the “The Crow” actor has wasted some time to dive into demonic terror by Stephen King Villain for the Prequel series ”It: Welcome to Derry. ”
The show was set in the 1960s Derry, 27 years before Andy Muschieti’s movie “It: Chapter One”. Filmmakers Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti developed the drama series “Welcome to Derry” for TV together with Jason Fuchs; Andy Muschietti directs several episodes of the series.
The hard -captured log line reads: “Set in the World of Stephen King’s’ It ‘Universe’, It: Welcome to Derry ‘is based on King’s’ It’ novel and expands the vision established by filmmaker Andy Muschietti in the feature films’ It ‘and’ IT: Chapter two. ”
So what is “welcome for Derry” really about? It is safe to say that it can only be a origin story for Skarsgårds Pennywise with a new harvest of children to scare. The role includes Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe and Rudy Mancuso.
“IT: Welcome to Derry” is produced by HBO and Warner Bros. Television. Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti produce through their double dream production company, together with Fuchs, Skarsgård, Brad Caleb Kane, David Coatsworth, Shelley Meals, Roy Lee and Dan Lin as executive produces. Fuchs and Kane act as co-showrunners on the project; Fuchs wrote Teleplay for the first section.
Skarsgård has previously told Collids that it was “surreal” how Big of a success The “IT” movies were. “It became this completely universal thing, outside the matter. It’s not me. I can’t even relate myself to it anymore,” Skarsgård said as he repaired the role of the follow -up film. “And now when I go back and do it, it’s such a bizarre thing. I don’t think I will ever experience something similar. It’s this dualistic thing of me and the work and the character, and then what it became, but it’s fun.”
He added that it was also easy to slip into Clown’s alter ego. “I was surprised at how much of the character was just there already,” he said. “I could immediately access him again, as if it were yesterday that we wound the first. It was just everything there. So the work and preparations and figure out the character is almost intuitive, which is quite cool. It’s a very strange thing, but I try to enjoy the ride, as much as I can.”
