Richard Linklater – Paragon of American Cinema – Have decided to become French. In addition to revealing his Lorenz Hart Chamber Piece “Blue Moon” By this year’s Berlinale, Linklater went intercontinental By premiering his ode to the French new wave, ”New wave” in competition by 2025 Kanes Film Festival. (And hey, he had already had an exhibition 2019 in his honor at Center Pompidou.) Watch a teaser for the movie below.
“Nouvelle Vaga” is canceled in 1959 Paris-Set-Shoot by Jean-Luc Godard’s debut function, “Breathless.” In the lead role Jean-Paul Belmondo and American actress Jean Seberg, “Breathless” follow a speechless criminal and his unintentional romantic interest when they fall in love, while being persecuted by the law. Aubry Dullin and Zoey Deutch play the roles of Belmondo and Seberg, while Guillaume Marbeck takes on Maestro himself, Godard. Other Luminaries of the French New Wave Featured in the Film Include François Truffaut (Adrien Rouyard), Suzanne Schiffman (Jodie Ruth-Forest), Claude Chabrol (Antoine Besson), Agnès Varda (Roxane Rivière) Éric Rohmer (Côme Thieulin) and Jacques Rivette (Jonas Marmy).
As with “breathless”, “Nouvelle Vague” is shot in black and white with a 4: 3-image relationship that matches the frame largely until the 1950s and 60s. In accordance with the traditions of the French New Wave, Linklater used a number of elements that were praised during this movement, including voiceover, jump cuts, existential irony and tracking images. The tight budgets used for these productions are also reflected in showing Godard using a food cart as a camera Dolly. Like many other figures by the French New Wave, such as Truffaut, Rohmer, Rakette and Chabrol, Godard began his career as a critic for Cahiers du Cinéma, a movie magazine founded in 1951 and remains in circulation today. However, the publication was purchased by another outlet in 2020 and pressed the editorial staff to resign.
The French New Wave would continue to inspire many other film movements all over the world, including the new Hollywood era in the late 1960s and 70s. It was strongly affected by changes that took place in Italian film about the use of neoreism and surrealism. Although the most well -known impacts on the French New Wave came out of Cahiers du Cinéma, or the “Right Bank” group, included the “left bank” collection of filmmakers Varda, Chris Marker and Alain Resnais. A majority of the “Left Bank” film creators were older and served as an extension of art and literature, rather than expanding clean in cinema.
