Keanu Reeves has been John Wick for more than a decade. And now the franchise star is taking fans behind the scenes for how the movies are made. Documentary ”Wick is pain“Features Reeves, director/producer Chad Stahelski and producers Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee when discussing how 2014 film spurred four sequels (A fifth movie recently announced), two spinoffs, two series and more.
“John Wick” started as an independent film and continued to change modern action film. Now the franchise has become one of the inspiration for a new Academy Award Category for Stunts. “Wick is Pain” is directed by Jeffrey Doe and produced by Josh Oreck, Gabriel Roth and Matthew Sidle, with Tina Carter Executive Proding.
“I’m happy to share and be part of taking fans behind the curtain on the extraordinary trip to make the John Wick films,” Reeves said about the documentary.
Stahelski added, “We had an idea of an independent film with a low budget. When we look back now, more than ten years later, it is hard to believe what that idea became. It is the fans who embraced the movie that made everything possible-and made all the pain a pleasure.”
Doe shared that Stahelski encouraged him to “keep it honestly” while filming the doctor. The director credited the “Wick” team for having “bold joy” in interviews, which led to a “raw, unclear” film about the creation of a beloved film.
Iwanyk agreed to say: “We have never worked harder on any movie than we have on the John Wick series. Producing a movie is always long hours and stressful times, but” John Wick “turned it to Max – and because we survived, that’s what made the films so pleasing.”
David Leitch, who also produced “John Wick”, quoted how the first film affected his career. “It’s safe to say that John Wick changed our lives for everyone involved,” Leitch said. “We had been waiting for the opportunity to show our vision of what action movie creation could be, and this movie and this character gave us that opportunity. Thank you, Mr. Wick.”
The movie will premiere at Beyond Fest at American Cinematheque on May 8 before it is available to buy on digital platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango at home, Youtube, Microsoft Movies & TV and Comcast Xfinity May 9. The pre -order starts on May 1.

The latest part of “John Wick” the universe is “Ballerina”, with Ana de Armas starring as a murderer educated in the traditions of Roma Roma. Len Wiseman leads, with Iwanyk, Lee and Stahelski who produce. Reeves stars too. “Ballerina” will be released on June 6, before “John Wick: Chapter 5” and De Donnie Yen-led Spinoff films. Lionsgate also develops the series “John Wick: Under High Table”, such as Stahelski and Reeves are executive producers. Until then, “Wick is pain” the next party for John Wick fanatic.
